Frequently Asked Questions

How Are Our Caregivers Selected?

We only hire the top 1% of caregivers in all of Sarasota. How? We treat our caregivers well, and as a result our retention is very high. To exceed the expectations of our clients, our caregivers must also be happy. Our caregivers bring in their most trusted friends and family in hopes of them getting hired. This is where Caregivers United shines.

Each caregiver goes through several interviews before being hired, with the vast majority being turned away due to falling short of our high standards.

All our caregivers are CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants) or HHAs ( Certified Home Health Aides). Everyone has passed a level ll background check. In addition, they all take part in ongoing training and education specific to in-home care.

Can We Choose Or Meet A Caregiver in Advance?

Yes, we can arrange caregivers for you to meet and interview. We are committed to you being happy with the caregiver.

What Will Happen If A Caregiver Is Unable To Show Up At A Scheduled Shift Due To An Emergency?

We commit to you receiving nothing short of the best care without exception. If a caregiver has an emergency and cannot show up, we will find another qualified caregiver. We will never leave a patient without care when we commit to being there. The owner of the company will show up if there is no one else available. This is our promise.

Do You Provide Services In The Hospital Or Other Facilities?

Yes. We provide services in hospitals, rehab facilities, and assisted living communities. As well as in independent living facilities, and just about anywhere else.

Who Pays For In-Home Care Services?

Most often, payment is privately made. We also accept Long Term Care Insurance (LTCI). Other payers include Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefits, Medicaid Waivers, and Workers Compensation.

How Do We Pay For Services Rendered?

We pay all our caregivers weekly. We take care of billing, payroll, and insurances. You will receive a weekly invoice by email or mail, as agreed upon. Invoices are due weekly upon receipt. Payment by check, e-check, or wire accepted. Credit cards are accepted although we prefer checks or wires.

Do You Accept Long-Term Care Insurance?

In most cases, yes. But, this depends on whether your long-term care policy covers the services you need. We will assist you in your reimbursement process in any way we can.

Can I Cancel My Services At Any Time?

Yes. You are not obligated to use our services for a specified period of time. You may cancel services at any time. But we do request advanced notice whenever possible as a courtesy to our caregivers.

Do You Provide Care Services for Someone Living In Non-traditional Home Settings, Such As An Assisted Living Facility Or Nursing Home?

Yes. Caregivers United provides home care services wherever a client chooses to live. We will meet with the family to conduct a thorough assessment. Then, we develop a care plan to best meet the needs of the client and their surroundings.

How Much Does Home Care Cost?

Home care is the best value and most comprehensive form of care available. If you aren’t sure if you can afford the services you want, simply call us. We’ll help you arrive at the economical solution best suited for you.

Do I Pay The Caregiver Directly?
